It's true, they are.  If you cruise, cut, or haul timber then get yourself a set of these stout American-made winter pacs. They are a bit heavier than a guy wants for running plot to plot, but they are built to last.  Good and warm for on the landing or in the log yard.  Lean enough construction to fit well in most snowshoe bindings.
