the best fire boot for the money?
Wore these around the house for a while, then on the treadmill for a mile or 2 at a time, then i took them on a highly difficult hiking trail to see how they would feel when i get out to the line, just the common blister areas, toes, back of heel, but that stitching eats your feet alive. These boots could be a absolute monster off a boot if they could do 2 things. 1. lining leather on the boot to cover the stitching on the inside, this would make the boot much more comfortable on the feet, 2.ditch the steel shank and go with a very solid leather shank, don't get me wrong the steel shank is nice for dealing with rocks and etc.. but heat building up in the boot could be a issue on the line. so far i have about 18 miles on the boot with about 5 on the treadmill and around the house and the rest from the hike. But as of right now i can say that they seem very well built, and from introducing these boots to some heat they still felt comfortable. A double stitched, screwed and nailed boot, something every fire boot should have.
