This is a full steel shank boot that will accept an automatic crampon and kick steps in snow all day without a crampon if needed. Nice Boot

Great boots. Not light and very stiff as they are designed for use with crampons and/or talus/scree and technical trails. I've had three pairs and they'll take anything you can dish out. My work boots are all White's handmade logging boots, so I know what it takes to put together a good quality boot. The La Sportiva's are right up there in the well built boot category.
