Hoffman Felt Voyager Claw Lug or Regular Soles

My previous pair of pac boots was a Sorrel-type boot. The rubber bottoms cracked and I needed new boots. I considered a few brands, such as Schnee’s and Kenetrek, for new pac boots. However, I chose the Hoffman Felt Voyagers with regular soles. I was attracted by the crack resistant rubber bottoms, sealed seams, reinforced toe cap, the price, and also the fact they are US-made. I ordered them in December and have worn them on almost a daily basis for the past few months. I cannot speak to Schnee’s or Kenetrek pac boots, but these Felt Voyagers are a great product. They worked out very well for forestry, logging, and a general cold weather boot. They provide excellent ankle support for me while out walking in the woods on uneven terrain or logs. I was curious how the regular sole would work and it has provided good traction. The boots are also very comfortable to walk in. These are not like the Sorrel-type pac boot where you would flounder. My feet do not ache at the end of a day of working in the woods.  At the end of an eight hour day, there was some dampness inside but no more than expected from any rubber-bottomed boot (which traps the sweat from escaping). I did not purchase an additional pair of liners so I made sure to pull the liners out of the boots every evening and dry both the liners and boots. I had originally ordered a size 10 (I am a size 10 1/2), per Hoffman’s instructions, but they were too small so I exchanged them for a size 11 which has been a great fit. Both my wife and I have mentioned we are glad I invested the money in these boots. These are a five star product.

Great boots. Comfortable, warm, great traction. I normally wear an 8 1/2 and ordered an 8 and they fit great with heavy wools socks. They're everything I wanted and they look good.

Felt Voyager is the warmest boot i have owned, its heavy and built like a tank.. its small enough to drive a full size truck,quads, snowmobiles. ect.. i have the regular soles and they work great but dont clean out good..i would recomend the claw sole.. you can buy cheaper boots but cant get better boots...fantastic all around winter boot !!

Best pair of pacs I have ever owned.  Doesn't matter if it's freezing cold or 30 above my feet stay warm and dry. Have wore in 2' of snow and out in the mud and slop.   Amazing customer service and very prompt.   I think I ordered my pacs and had them in three days.  Will definitely do business with these folks again.  South central Montana
